Ramp issues rectified in Largs
The 'Isle of Cumbrae', serving von the route Largs-Cumbrae was removed from service on July 25 at approx 1:00 p.m. to allow contractors to carry out a repair of the ramp issue in the port of Largs. Due to the technical issue with the ramp, the vessel was operating single ended, so that vehicles wee required to reverse on and off the vessel.
Sailings suspended due to steering trouble
Due to the technical issues of the 'Isle of Cumbrae', serving on the route Largs-Cumbrae, which were impacting the vessel’s steering, the sailings operated by the ship were suspended on July 24 after further cancellations on July 23 in connection with the ramp issues. Sailings with the 'Loch Shira', departing from Largs at a quarter past and quarter to the hour and departing from Cumbrae on the hour and half past the hour, remained unaffected. The 'Isle of Cumbrae' remained sidelined in Largs for troubleshooting. After the issue was successfully resolved, the service was resumed with the 6:00 p.m. sailing departing Largs.
Ferry suffered technical issues wit hramp
The 'Isle of Cumbrae', serving on the route Largs-Cumbrae, suffered a technical issue with its ramp on July 21. As a consequence, the scheduled 09:30 a.m.sailing from Largs and the 09:45 a.m. sailing from Cumbrae had to be cancelled, which were later extended until the evening. The 'Loch Shira' continued accodring to timetable, The sailings departed from Largs at a quarter to and a quarter past the hour. Sailings from Cumbrae departed on the hour and half past the hour. Afer the 'Ilse of Cumbrae' was back on service a 15 minute timetable was resumed. On July 22 all sailings operated by 'Isle of Cumbrae' wer liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice due to the ongoing issues with the vessel’s ramp. To expedite the repair on the 'Isle Of Cumbrae's ramp, the vessel was to be relocated to Colintraive. were are expected to be completed by the afternoon of July 23.
