Engine failure off Karanfil Burnu
En route from Varna to Haifa with an ETA as of Aug 10, the 'Ironhide' suffered an engine failure off the coast of Karanfil Burnu during the transit of the Çanakkale Strait on Aug 5 at around 10.40 p.m. UTC. The tugs 'Kurtarma 18' (IMO: 9974890) and 'Kurtarma 19' (IMO: 9995129) were deployed to assist and took the ship in tow. It was safely moored at the Karanlık Liman anchorage in pos. 40° 02' N 026° 19' E on Aug 6 at around 2.40 a.m. The response to the incident was coordinated by the Çanakkale Vessel Traffic Services Center.
