CSL Cochin delivers first patrol ship of as series of 20 vessels
The Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) has delivered the first of a series of 20 fast patrol vessel (FPV) for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The vessel, ‘Aadesh’, will be operated by the Coast Guard station at Tuticorin. It was handed over after successful completion of trials. Commanding officer of the ship Commandant S R Nagendran took over the vessel in the presence of DIG Vivek Vajpayee, Principal Director (Materials), Indian Coast Guard. Protocol documents of delivery of the vessel were signed by Ravikumar Rodham, Director (Finance), on the behalf of CSL. The contract was signed in 2010, with the delivery of the last vessel slated for 2017.
