Chinese ship abandoned after grounding
All 13 crewmembers of the "Yi Cheng 1" were rescued on Dec 28, 2018, as of 9:15 a.m. after the ship dragged anchor and ran aground in the East China Sea four miles off Nanri island of the city of Fuqing in East China's Fujian Province in the early morning. The 13 crew members abandoned ship in bad weather conditions and landed on nearby Niuyu Island. They were later picked up by a helicopter and transferred to a rescue ship sent by the Donghai Rescue Bureau. All the crew were Chinese nationals. The ship was en route from Jangyin to Ningde.
