Grounding at Macaba
The "Den Sha", after loading a cargo of bauxite in Trombetas, being bound to Sao Luis, ran aground near the pilot station at Macapa anchorage on May 19, 2019, at 4.30 p.m. The vessel after dropping its pilot at Macapa anchorage, touched the ground and got stuck, being unable to move. A salvage team with the two tugs "Brigantia" and "Mexiana" were called to refloat the vessel. On May 20 the SMIT tugs pulled the ship off which then headed to the Macapa anchorage area, where it was waiting for the Harbour Master's inquiry procedures. On May 22 the ship was moving again and transited the Canal do Norte enroute to Allumar, ETA May 24, 1 p.m.
