Medevac off Den Helder

The KNRM-lifeboat "Joke Dijkstra" of the station Den Helder was called for a medevac from the "Falken" in the morning of June 19, 2013, at 8.30 a.m. As there was practically no wind the "Joke Dijkstra" speeded with at least 30 knots from the Schulpengat towards the sailing ship which had stopped off Callantsoog. Half an hour later the 17-year-old female patient could be transfered aboard. The commander of the HMS "Falken" thanked the crew for their efforts, and the "Joke Dijkstra" rushed back towards the port of Den Helder where the patient was delivered t o an ambulance around 10.45 a.m. Dutch report with photos: http://www.knrm.nl/service/reddingrapporten/?contentID=6BABB0B4 After docking, the crew could continue with the preparations for Sail Den Helder. On Thursday, during the Sail-in 8 of the lifeboats KNRM and Rescue units of the Brigade on the water for safety.
