Fine for violation of MARPOL requirements in Rostock
On July 10, 2025, officers from the Rostock Water Police Inspectorate (WSPI) conducted an inspection of the 'Hadeland', which has been berthed in Rostock's fishing port since July 6. It was discovered that a disinfectant was being used during the operation of the wastewater treatment plant that did not comply with the requirements of the international MARPOL regulations.. While the ship was docked in Rostock, approximately 3 m³ of ship wastewater entered the port waters via this treatment plant. Criminal proceedings for water pollution have been initiated against the responsible Chief Engineer. The Rostock District Court set a security deposit of €3,000. The ship remained stationary in port as of July 14.
Intoxicated master grounded vessel twice
The "Hadeland" ran aground two times, while leaving the port of Riga on Aug 3, 2019, at 8 p.m. The ship refloated by own means after the first grounding only to ran aground for a second time shortly after resuming the voyage. Coast Guard officers found the master to be intoxicated. The ship was moored on the outer anchorage for investigations. After these were completed, it resumed the voyage with an ETA at Immingham as of Aug 7, 5 p.m.
Fire in Koper
On Dec 27, 2015, a fire aboard the "NBP Commander" which was moored in the port of Koper. Two teams of firefighters intervened with a fire truck and tackled the fire.
