Cargo ship drifted aground at Kartal
On Dec 31, 2016, the "Güneyin", after having arrived from Tuzla, dragged anchor and drifted onto the shore at the Kartal Kumcular Jetty due to bad weather conditions. The Istanbul Vessel Traffic Service deployed the tug "Kurtama 7" and the lifeboat "Kiyi Emniyeti 4" to assist. On Jan 1, 2017, the unloaded "Güneyin" was secured and anchored to the Kartal area.
