Oil spill during bunkering operation

Thu Jan 27 21:58:55 CET 2022 Timsen

On Jan 25, 2022, fuel oil was spilled fro mthe 'Greenwing' during bunkering operations in the seaport of Ust-Luga at the fifth berth of the European Sulfur Terminal. A part of the fuel got onto the deck and leaked overboard. Employees of the supervisory department investigated the circumstances of the incident and assessed the actions of responsible personnel. Works to combat the pollution were to be carried out by Marine Ecology LLC. The department sent a request to the company to establish the volumes of fuel collected during the emergency response. The amount of damage will be presented to the shipping agent for compensation. The 'Greenwing' had arrived from the port of Kotka on Jan 24 and was next bound to the port of Sillamäe. It anchored off Ust-Luga on Jan 27. Russian report with photos: https://m.47news.ru/articles/206629/
