Thu Jan 12 18:56:54 CET 2017 Timsen

The "Great Sailor" was subject of a hijacking attemptin the Straits of Malacca near Nongsa Point on Batam Island last week. The crew discovered, however, the attackers in time and was able to shake them off. The tanker was transiting the Malacca Strait eastboud, when the crew discovered that the ship was approached by a fast motor boat. The captain immediately raised alarm and initiated evasive maneuvers, and the crew managed to capture the speed boat with one of the ship's floodlights.
