Under repairs after Masinloc grounding
Bulk carrier Great Mind ran aground with pilot on board approaching Masinloc harbour, Zambales, Luzon, Philippines, on August 15 2012. Vessel was refloated later with the help of tugs and berthed for offloading of 64500 tons of Indonesian steam coal. Great Mind suffered some structural damages and after Classification survey was issued safe certificate valid until Sep 15 prohibiting any cargo operations until dry docking repairs. On August 28 Great Mind left Masinloc and sailed to Shenzhen, arriving at Yiu Lian Shekou Dockyards on August 30. Maritime Bulletin http://www.odin.tc
Ran aground in Manila Bay
In the morning August 15 2012 bulk carrier Great Mind, loaded with coal, ran aground off Masinloc, Manila Bay, en route from Port Klang to Masinloc Power Plant. Salvage contract is signed, three tugs are already engaged in a salvage. Maritime Bulletin http://www.odin.tc
