Suffered steering failure in Strait of Juan de Fuca
Car carrier Grand Quest suffered steering failure while passing Strait of Juan de Fuca just after 00:15 LT July 3 en route from Astoria, Oregon, to Tacoma, Washington. Vessel was towed to Port Angeles. Repairs were completed by 10:00 same day, vessel was to complete its voyage to Tacoma, but for some reason, vessel didn’t leave Port Angeles until morning July 4. As of 12:00 UTC July 4 vessel was under way, approaching Tacoma.
