Ginga Bopcat hit by RPG

Fri Sep 30 12:06:35 CEST 2011 Timsen

AThe "Ginga Bopcat" on Sep 28, 2011, came under fire in the Red Sea near Yemen, but no one was injured and the ship remained operational. A rocket-propelled grenade launched from a small high-speed boat hit low on the vessel's bridge and left a 10-centimeter hole. The "Ginga Bobcat" had a crew of 24, all Bangladeshi, and was carrying phosphoric acid from Europe to India. About 45 minutes before it was hit, another tanker operated by Tokyo Marine in the same stretch of sea was also attacked by a small boat, but not hit.
