Crewboat disabled by fouled propeller

Tue Aug 21 21:16:26 CEST 2018 Timsen

The "Geosurveyor VI" was disabled by a rope which fouled its propeller 1,4 miles from the entrance to the river Deben in Suffolk, in position 51 59.6 N, 001 25.1 E, on Aug 20, 2018, around 7 p.m. The tug "Coastworker" was unable to remove the rope. The "GPS Battler" was tasked to heave anchor and grind itfrom the chain, freeing the "Geosurveyor VI". The "Coastworker" escorted the vessel to Harwich where it berthed at 11.05 p.m. The company has self organised its assistance. The ship sailed again on Aug 21 at 9.15 a.m. bound to Lowestoft.
