Engine issues in Vancouver

The 'General Jackson' was disabled with engine issues in pos. 49 18 13.2 N, 123 07 00.0 W, in Vancouver Harbour, British Columbia, on Jan 26, 2023, at 10.30 p.m. PST. The vessel was assisted by the tug 'HS Hope' until the issue was resolved.

Clogged filter disabled tug

The General Jackson', while towing the empty log barge 'Captain Vancouver' was disabled due to clogged fuel filter in position 54 18 53N, 131 07 03W, about 9.44 miles SSW of Dundas Island in the Dixon Entrance, British Columbia, on June 7, 2020, at 6.15 p.m. The crew of five carried out repair works and the tug with its tow continued its voyage from Duncan Bay to Twin Creeks, ETA June 14.

Tug suffered engine room fire

The 'General Jackson' with five crew members on board, suffered an engine room fire in the Malacca Passage in position 54 05 08.4 N, 130 18 00.6 W, on Nov 30, 2019, at 7.30 p.m. The tug was towing a loaded chip barge. The vessel was disabled and taken in tow by the tug 'Castle Lake' to Prince Rupert on Dec 1 at 11 a.m. It sailed again on Dec 2 at 6 a.m. and arrived in Duncan Bay on Dec 6 at 5.20 a.m.
