Search for fishermen of “Proa al Sol II” continued

Units of the Naval Headquarters and the Argentine Navy continued with the search for the two fishermen who were missing after the “Proa al Sol II” sank on the night of July 14, 2024, in the area of ​​Mar del Plata. On July 16 the search was resumed with a large contingend, among them the 'GC 27-Prefecto Fique', which has rescue and diving equipment, the ARA 'Piedrabuena' and a Beechcraft TC-12B Hurón aircraft, of the Maritime Surveillance Air Squadron. The shipwreck occurred about 55 kilometers off the coast. One of the crew members who was clinging to the semi-submerged craft was rescued by a helicopter of the Prefecture, was rescued in a state of shock and hypothermia. He stated that the rest of the crew did not wear life jackets and that he observed their immersion.
