Fire on trawler off Casquets TSS

The 'Sainte Marie de La Mer II' suffered a fire in the engine room in position 49 56 00.0N, 003 08 00.0W, about 8,3 nautical miles from the southwest exit of the Casquets Traffic Separation Scheme on June 27, 2021, with six crew members on board. Winds on scene wre 10 knots. At 3.13 p.m. the CROSS Jobourg notified the British JRCC about the incident. At 1.16 p.m. the RNLI boats from Torbay and Salcombe were requested to launch by the JRCC. At 1.22 p.m. also the Rescue Helicopter 924 was tasked, and a French Rescue Helicopter was tasked by CROSS Jobourg. At 2.27 p.m. the fire was brought under control. At 2.55 p.m. the two lifeboats arrived on scene. Rescue swimmers and fire-fighters were dropped off on board and assessing the vessel. The fishing vessels 'Solitaire', 'Hegoak', 'Cap Al?Amont' and 'Cap Pilar' (MMSI: 228157700) were on scene as well. At 3 pm. the French Aircraft departed the incident scene. At 3.30 p.m. the rescue helicopter 175 arrived on scene and was stood down at 3.42 p.m. At 4.57 p.m. the fire was extinguished, and the 'Cap Pilar' took the 'Sainte Marie de La Mer II' in tow to Castletownbere.
