Crew member died on board

On Jan 22, 2024, the crew of the 'Le Stiff' tried t0 resuscitate a Portuguese crew mate in pos. 47 38 00 N, 010 20 00 W, about 210 nautical miles off the Isles of Scilly. At 10.40 a.m. the UK MRCC received a call from MRCC Madrid, informing of the request for medical assistance from the 'Le Stiff'.The UK MRCC conducted broadcasts, requesting nearby vessels with medical facilities to make best speed to the vessel's position. The Spanish hospital vessel 'Esperanza Del Mar' was 60 nautical miles away. After it was confirmed the man was deceased, at 11.45 a.m. the SAR operation was terminated. No further action were required, and the 'Le Stiff' headed to A Coruna, where she arrived on Jan 23.
