Medevac off Pointe de la Hague

Tue Aug 19 13:34:20 CEST 2025 Timsen

On Aug 11, 2025, at around 7:30 p.m. the skipper of the 'Hermes I' requested assistance from the CROSS Jobourg. after one of his crew members had just been injured on board. The CROSS then contacted the maritime medical consultation center based in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne). It was then recommended that the person be medically evacuated. The trawler, based in Granville (Manche), was then sailing in fishing action 23 miles northwest of the Pointe de la Hague. The CROSS then engaged a French Navy's H160 helicopter based in Maupertus. which took off with a medical team from the Army Health Service on board. Once on site, the H160 hoisted the victim on board and then dropped ho, off at the Tourlaville drop zone, where he was met by a firefighter's rescue and casualty assistance vehicle (VSAV), which transferred him to the Pasteur Hospital in Cherbourg.
