Collision off Onahama
The 'Fukushima Maru' with 73 people on board, including 50 students, was in collision with a fishing vessel while approaching the port of Onahama, Fukushima, on Sep 15, 2020, around 9 a.m. The fishing vessel suffered a hull crack in the foreship. The research vessel only had superficial and berthed at the Iwaki Cruise Terminal in Onaham. The fishing vessel headed to its home port with own power.
