Court to auction off Qingdao Marine Shipping bulker

Qingdao Maritime Court will hold an auction for the 2009-built 33,000 dwt handy bulker He De through online platform Taobao on September 25. The vessel is owned by Qingdao Marine Shipping, part of Qingdao Zhenghe Shipping, which has been involved in a number of debt disputes with creditors and saw some of its vessels sold by courts. The starting price for the vessel in the auction is RMB33.67m ($4.69m), while VesselsValue‘s valuation of the vessel is $6.38m.

Bulkcarriers in collision off Shanghai

The two bulk carriers "Guo Dian 2", enroute from Tang Shang, and "He De" which came from Dalian, collided off the coast of Shanghai, with no injuries reported. The "He De" hit the other bulker about 3 nm southeast of Jigu Reef on June 17, 2014. There were 23 crew members on board the "Guo Dian 2" and 22 crew members on board the "He De". The two bulkers took on water after the collision. The Donghai Rescue Bureau dispatched rescue vessels "Donghaijiu 101" and "Donghaijiu 115" to the site of the accident.
