Near collision in Wadden Sea
The "Friesland" had to make an emergency stop on July 13, 2019, to prevent the collision with a clipper vessel which was dangerously approaching at port side. The ferry suddenly had to go full astern with a hard starboard manoever on its way from Harlingen to Terschelling and. The clipper was sailing across the fairway. The evasive manoever succeeded.
