Fire guts vehicle onboard MV Freedom Ace at Port of Apapa

Mon Mar 12 08:37:44 CET 2012 arnekiel

There was pandemonium at the Five Star Logistics Terminal in Tin-Can Island yesterday when a 2000 model Toyota Camry shipped in onboard M.V. Freedom Ace, a ship laden with 1,198 fairly used vehicles, burst into flames. As at the time of this report, there were conflicting reports over the cause of the fire which left the car badly damaged. While a version said there was an explosion before the fire, another version said it was caused by an electrical fault. The Panama flagged ship has MOL as its shipping agents in Nigeria. A dockworker who preferred to remain anonymous, told Vanguard that there was a loud explosion inside the ship before his colleagues working there ran out. He said the incident which occurred at Hole 3, deck 10, started at about 9am http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/03/fire-guts-vehicle-onboard-vessel-at-apapa/
