Charge sheet against former captain of Framfjord
The police has now issued a charge sheet against the 26-year-old man who was the captain in charge of the 'Framfjord' which allided with the Northhortlands Bridge between Bergen and Flatte on June 6, 2019. He was accused of being asleep or failing to pursue, causing the ship toallide with the bridge which could have been inoperable. The charge carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison. The damaged to the ship was more than 10 million Norwegian crowns, and it was later repaired. None of the seven crew members was injured in the accident. The man is scheduled to appear in Hortland District Court on Dec 14. Damaged freighter demolished
Since July 2019 the Framfjord' was being scrapped in the port of Fonnes. The ship had been declared as a CTL in June 2019 following its allision with the Nordhordland Bridge near Steinestøon June 6 in which it got its wheelhouse partially crushed.
