Fesco adds feeder

Russia's Fesco has snapped up a German feedership to serve domestic routes. The company said it had acquired a 707-teu, 8,508-dwt vessel built in Germany in 2004. It has been renamed Fesco Navarin and flagged in Russia. Delivery took place in Rotterdam last week. The vessel will be operating on Fesco's cabotage lines with another similar boxship from August.

Sailor killed by breaking rope

On Oct 3, 2013, a sailor killed while the "Atair J" was about to dock at the Port of Aarhus. He died on the spot when hawser broke and hit him deadly. The strong wind that blew may have contributed to the accident. The Danish Maritime Authority evaluated if the safety was satisfactory The ship chartered by the Danish shipping company Unifeeder has moved on to Rotterdam.
