Collision in Lisbon

The two catamaran ferries 'Fernando Namora' and 'Fernando Passoa' were in collision on March 8, 2021, at 10 a.m. off the quay of the Terreiro do Paço river station in Lisbon. The accident happened when the 'Fernando Pessoa' left the quay of Terreiro do Paço and hit the 'Fernando Namora'. No one was injured in the collision, and it was not necessary to provide medical assistance. Experts from the Captaincy of the Port of Lisbon and the Lisbon Maritime Police were mobilized to the site. The vessels which both suffered hull damage and were subject to an inspection and banned from sailing until deemed seaworthy again.
