Grounding at Kraggenburg

On Aug 10, 2018, around midday the "Essex", 332 ts (EU-No.: 02008289), ran aground in the approach of the Voorster lock in Kraggenburg enroute from Rotterdam to Neuilly. With the necessary engine power, the skipper independently detached the ship after two hours and manoevered it into the lock. The drauhgt of the vessel was certainly 10 cm less than the permissible draft and it should therefore should have been able to sail in the Zwolsevaart without problems.
