Mooring boat capsized in allision

Thu Sep 12 11:11:42 CEST 2019 Timsen

On Sep 10, 2019, at 7.20 p.m. the lighter "PMB VI", owned by Pertamina's Marketing Operation Region (MOR) I, sank in the waters of Belawan, North Sumatra. The boat was slammed by huge waves that came with the bad weather near the area of Pertamina's Fuel Oil Terminal. It had had four crew on board. One of them, the captain, died during the incident at the Single Point Mooring Belawan. The crew members were just finishing up unloading the boat's cargo to the "Enduro". As the "PMB VI" sailed away from the tanker the weather turned nasty suddenlym and the boat was smashed against the "Enduro" and capsized. Three crew members jumped into the waters. The captain, Rudi Prayoga, 52, from Medan City, died as he was trapped inside. The three crew members were safe. The "Enduro" was moored in pos. 03° 51.49' N 098° 49.72' E off Belawan.
