The Canadian schooner "Empre Sandy", 740 dwt (IMO: 5071561), was in collision with the "Ina" in the evening of Aug 5, 2017, at Lock 8 in Port Colborne on the Lake Erie during the city's annual Canal Days festival. The tall ship first allided with the lock’s wall and then bumped into the stern of the "Ina" which had left Colborne earlier that day, bound for Montreal. The St. Lawrence Seaway launched an investigation. There were no injuries due to the allision. At about 10:30 p.m. the "Empire Sandy" passengers were safely back in the lock.
