Fire destroyed wheelhouse equipment

The 'Elena', which was under repair at Trioli, suffered a wheelhouse fire, caused by an electric short circuit on Dec 26, 2023. The wheelhouse's equipment as well as three cabins underneath were destroyed. The fire was extinguished by the Tripoli Port fire brigade. No injuries and no pollution were noted.

M/V "Ko Lanta" refused access to the Paris MoU region

On 4th September 2015 M/V “KO LANTA” with IMO number 7406772 was detained in Cartagena (Spain). This is the third detention in the Paris MoU region within the last 36 months. The ship flies the flag of SIERRA LEONE which is black on the current Paris MoU WGB list. The ship will be refused further access to any port and anchorages in the Paris MoU region, except a port of the ship's flag State. The refusal of access will become applicable immediately after the ship is authorized to leave this port and anchorage. As this is the first refusal of access order the period of the refusal of access will be 3 months.

Collision off Istanbul

On Feb 8, 2013, the "Alaa 1" which was anchored off Istanbul while being enroute Constanta-Sete was hit by the Turiish bunker tanker "Ondina". The fast rescue boat "Kiyem 4" and the tug "Söndüren 4" responded. While the ship's suffered some damage, no injuries or spills were reported.
