Collision in Willemstad
The barge 'El Teide' enroute from Zwijndrecht to Siffferdok, and the 'Yakari' (MMSI: 226002010), enroute from Moerdijk to Anterp, were in collision on the afternoon of Aug 25, 2025, near the Volkerak locks in Willemstad. The 'El Teide' suffered no visible damage. This 'Yakari' as drifting rudderless in the outer harbour after the accident and suffered significant damage.. Police and Rijkswaterstaatproceeded to the collision site to invesstigate the incident. The 'El Teide' moored in pos. 51° 40' N 004° 10' E at the lock, the 'Yakari' in pos. 51° 42' N 004° 25' E. The 'El Teide' continued the voyage on Aug 26 towards Hans Weert, Terneuzen and Ghent, the 'Yakari' berthed in Moerdijk on Aug 26.
