Sat Jun 02 11:31:12 CEST 2012 Timsen

The "Edo" carrying a barge with nuclear waste continued its voyage on the Elbe-Havel-Canal on June 1, passing Burg and Genthin towards Lubmin. In the midday hours the police handed over the control to the Brandenburg authorities while the transport is heading towards the Oder and the coastal waters of Pomerania to Lubmin. On May 31 opponents had gathered at the lock Niegripp, some jumping into the Elbe-Havel-Canal in order to stop the ship which, however, had already berthed for the night hours.
