Ferry suffered propulsion trouble
A technical fault in the propulsion of the 'Drotten', serving between Visby and Oskarshamn, led to major delays in ferry traffic on the afternoon of Aug 27. The ferry that was supposed to leave Visby port at 4:40 p.m. remained at the quay until after midnight. The ferry has now been taken out of service and several delays were expected on Aug 28 as a result.When it became clear that the fault could not be fixed quickly enough, a replacement ferry had to be deployed in the night. The scheduled sailings on the morning of Aug 28 were also affected by the trouble. The 'Drotten' resumed the service from Visby ti Oskarshamn after completion of repairs on Aug 28.
Engine failure in Nynäshamn
On June 19, 2019, the "Gotland" suffered an engine failure which delayed the scheduled departure from Nynäshamn to Visby at 11.15 a.m. The ship finally sailed at noon from Oskarshammn and arrived at Visby at 3 p.m.
Ferry delayed due to technical fault
The "Gotland", enroute from Oskarshamn to Visby with an ETA as of March 24, 2018, at 11 p.m. was delayed at its destination due to a cooling water fault. When the fault was repaired, the ferry could enter the dock as usual,While the ferry was drifting off the port, the captain informed the passengers at regular intervals that they should sit down and remain calm.
