Master of Apollo Lynx intoxicated - again
On Aug 28, 2014, at 00.40 a.m. the pilot aboard the "Apollo Lynx", which was coming from Gdansk, suspected the master of the vessel to have consumed alcohol. The water police Kiel was called and carried out an alco test while the ship was passing the locks of the Kiel Canal in Holtenau, which showed that the master was intoxicated with 2,36 per thousand. The ship which had on board a cargo of ammonium nitrate, was ordered to berth in the North Port of Kiel and a port state control carried out. Already on Nov 14, 2013, the captain of the "Apollo Lynx" had been found to be intoxicated in Norway.
Captain found drunk
The Norwegian police received a hint that the captain of the "Apollo Lynx" was intoxicated, and when the ship docked at the Sjursøya Quay in Oslo on Nov 14, 2013, he had to pass an alcohol test. The result was enough to take him in for a further trial. The ship was coming from Les Sables d'Olonne at that time.
