Engine trouble off Rotterdam
On Jan 17, 2017, the "Dongeborg" encountered propulsion problems upon her arrival off Rotterdam, coming from Bilbao. The vessel dropped anchor near the Maeslant Waterbarrier to stop the drift. In the morning of Jan 18 the"Dongeborg" was towed to Delfzijl by the "Waterstroom" and the Danish tug "Stevns Ocean" via Kiel Canal following its grounding off Laesoe, Denmark, on Jan 3. The "Dongeborg" remains under detention at Skagen Anchorage by Ja, 6. The ship is moored in the Aalbæk Bight jointly with the anti pollution vessel "Mette Miljø". Investigations are being undertaken against the captain who had 0,7 per mille alcohol after the grounging but refused a blood test.
