Crew member medevaced off Palma de Mallorca
On the early morning of June 18, 2025, a crew member of the 'Costa Toscana' needed to be medically evacuated, while the cruise ship was sailing 55 nautical miles off Palma de Mallorca, en route from Barcelona to Ibiza. The SAR helicopter Helimer 222 was mobilized by the CCS Palma of Salvamento Marítimo. The patient was safely hoisted along with the onboard doctor and transported to the Son Espases Hospital in Palma.
Medevac off Palamós
On May 27, 2024, the 'Costa Toscana' requested the medevac of a passenger 10 nautical miles East of Palamós. The CCS Barcelona of Salvamento Marítimo deplopyed the SAR boat 'Salvamar Sirius', which which placed itself next to the ship and embarked the patient, a family member and a nurse.
Medevac off Menorca
On Oct 23, 2023, the 'Coasta Toscana', en route from Barcelona to Cagliari, requested the medical evacuation of a passenger 65 nautical miles east of Menorca. The CCS Palma of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 220, which hoisted the patient and transferred it to the heliport of the Son Espases Hospital in Palma.
