Owner of reefer Cool Aster filed a bankruptcy and abandoned the vessel which is docked in Kaliningrad Baltic sea, since August 3 2012. Food and supplies ran out, port cut the vessel off power, but 18 crew (Latvain, Estonian, Ukrainian and Russian nationalities) refused to leave the vessel or take her to Klaipeda as it was offered by a bank which is holding mortgage, afraid they’ll be forced to leave the vessel without wage debt paid. A lawyer is already hired to defend crew interests, vessel may be arrested and auctioned to pay wage debts. Maritime Bulletin http://www.odin.tc
