Allision in Antwerp

Mon Jun 18 12:43:08 CEST 2018 Timsen

In the port of Antwerp, the "Condor Valparaiso", coming from Hamburg, stopped too late and allided with a gate of the Boudewijn lock at the south side of the canal dock in the morning of June 18, 2018. The lock was temporarily out of use. A diver was sent for surveys, who found a dent in the lock 3 under the waterline. A replacement gate was then taken into use, so that the lock could be used again for shipping at 10 a.m. The ship was not damaged and could continue sailing. It berthed in the Churchill dock at 7.40 a.m.
