Ship allided with railway bridge

The 'Clasina Maria', en route from Antwerp, allided with the railway bridge on the border of Puurs-Sint-Amands and Boom on the morning of Aug 22, 2025. The accident likely occurred during a turn when the vessel was caught by the strong current on the Rupel River. No injuries were reported, and the damage to the bridge and the ship appears to be limited. The Maritime Police arrived on scene to investigate the situation. The ship, while still being stuck in pos. 51° 05' N 004° 21' E, was able to free itself once the Rupel River current turned at around 10.20 a.m. and proceeded to Willebroek, where it remained stationary as of Aug 25.
