Disabled vessel towed to Almería

Mon May 30 09:18:55 CEST 2016 Timsen

The SAR tug "Mastelero" was alerted by the Maritime Rescue Center in Almería to the "Chrysoula" on May 28, 2016, which was adrift and taking on water 18 miles south of Cabo de Gata on May 28, 2016, at 6 p.m. The crew of eight indicated that the engine was overheated and there was water ingress at the propeller shaft which disabled the vessel. The "Mastelero" managed to take the ship in tow after having arrived on scene aroudn 10 p.m. in spite of rough seas with winds of 35 knots and three meter wave height. The convoy arrived in Almería on May 29 at 9 a.m. Spanish report with photo: http://www.ideal.es/almeria/201605/29/trasladados-puerto-almeria-ocho-20160529165044.html
