Tanker assisted in rescue of capsized man

On Aug 13, 2020, a 7.20 p.m. the 'Chemway Lara' issued a Mayday-call two kilometers east of buoy 13 off Warnemünde after locating a capsized red kayak in the water. The lifeboat 'Vormann Jantzen', the catamaran yacht 'Salina' and the police boat 'MV1' started an SAR operation. The lifeboat rescued a hypothermic man who was taken to Warnemünde and medically treated. The 'Salina' recovered his boat.
