Engine pump leak off Start Point

The 'Carat', en route from Casablanca to Tilbury with 14 crew members on board, suffered an engine pump leak in position 49 42 55 N, 003 14 15 W, about 35 miles southsoutheast from Start Point on Jan 7, 2020, at 7.15 a.m. The vessel was coordinating with the CROSS Joburg, and the estimated time for completion of repair works was approximately four hours. After the engine crew had changed the injection pump, the ship resumed its voyage with an ETA as of Jan 8.

Carat scraped embankment

On Sep 29, 2012, the "Carat" scraped the embankment of the Kiel Canal during its westbound transit. The ship, which had come from the Universal Terminal in Riga, berthed in Brunsbüttel-Ostermoor at 6 a.m. until noon for investigations before proceeding further into the Northsea around 1 p.m.
