Tahoma crew offloaded more than $74 million in illicit drugs interdicted in the Eastern Pacific

The ' Tahoma (WMEC 908) ’ offloaded approximately 9,970 pounds of cocaine worth $73.7 million, on July 29, 2025, at Port Everglades. The seized contraband was the result of an interdiction on June 24, 2025, approximately 120 miles northwest of Ecuador by the crew of the patrol vessel. The U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Area Tactical Law Enforcement Team and the U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Safety & Security Team Houston were also involved in the interdiction operations. 188 boat people repatriated to Haiti

The 'Tahoma' repatriated 188 people to Haiti on March 22 following an interdiction approximately 20 miles off Cap Du Mole, Haiti. The Coast Guard Cutters 'William Flores' and 'Tahoma' reported an overloaded and unsafe vessel to Coast Guard District Seven watchstanders on March 19 at approximately 5:30 a.m. Due to the deteriorating weather, 126 men, 52 women, and 17 children voluntarily left their vessel. The sea state at the time was 5-foot seas.

84 Haitians repatriated

The 'Tahoma’ repatriated 84 Haitians to Haitian authorities on March 15, 2022, following two interdictions of undocumented migrants. A good Samaritan notified Coast Guard District Seven watchstanders on March 13, at about 1:50 p.m., of an overloaded sail freighter approximately 43 miles south of Turk and Caicos Island. The Coast Guard Cutter 'Joseph Napier' notified Coast Guard District Seven watchstanders on March 10 at about 12 a.m. of an overloaded sail freighter approximately 60 miles east of Punta De Maisi, Cuba. In both interdictions, the migrants were removed from their vessels due to safety of life at sea concerns.
