Robber found on tanker deck

Sat Mar 21 19:29:16 CET 2020 Timsen

A robber was found on the upper deck of the 'Archon' by a crew member and an armed security guard on routine rounds at the Apapa-Lagos anchorage, Nigeria, in position 006 18 16.8N, 003 21 06.0E, on March 19, 2020, at 12.45 a.m. The armed guard used warning shots while the crew member raised the alarm. These two actions caused the robber to escape from the tanker by rope into a boat, with twelve cubic metres of stolen gasoline which had been siphoned off by the robber. A Nigerian Navy patrol vessel was dispatched to the scene. All crew members were safe.
