Vladimir damages new northern lock wall in Brunbuettel due to too high entering speed

Wed Jul 03 10:07:37 CEST 2013 arnekiel

Vladimir on early morning of July 2, 2013 damaged the lock wall of new northern lock in Brunbuettel due to too high entering speed. The ship entered the lock from the east side at 06.55 clock and allided with the walls on the port side. The brickwork of the lock wall was damaged over a length of several meters. On the ship's hull significant scraping traces were visible, and part of the ships railing were damaged. Since the accident claims were significantly above the waterline, the ship was allowed to continue his journey to Bremerhaven. People were not injured and the lock operation was not affected by the accident.
