BW LPG announces delivery of BW Carina

BW LPG Limited is pleased to announce that it has taken delivery of BW CARINA, the second Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) in its newbuilding program of eight VLGCs. In a speech given at the shipnaming ceremony in Ulsan, South Korea, for the BW Carina and two of her sister vessels due in March and April, BW LPG CEO Nicholas Gleeson said, “These vessels deliver into a particularly strong chartering market, and are being completed with the high quality we have come to expect from HHI. They are an important extension of our customer commitment to deliver high-quality maritime transportation of LPG safely and efficiently.” Including the BW CARINA, the company now owns and operates a fleet of 37 vessels, comprising 21 owned VLGCs, 11 chartered-in VLGCs, five owned LGCs with six more VLGCs on order. BW LPG is the world’s largest Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) owner and operator, by number of VLGCs and by LPG carrying capacity. Source: BW LPG
