Engine room fire quickly extinguished

Emergency services responded to an engine room fire, which broke out aboard the 'Bubo' on Sep 24, 2025, at around 10:25 a.m., as the vessel sailed across the Dordtse Kil canal. The ship was berthed at the Havenweg in 's-Gravendeel, Dordrecht. The fire department, the KNRM, and Rijkswaterstaat were on scene. The fire fighters mobilized several vehicles and quickly extinguished the fire. The fire fighters removed some of the cladding from the vessel and extinguished it on the quay. The damage appeared to be minor. The ship was ventilated after the fire was put out. The remaining fire units from Dordrecht were stood down. The skipper of the ship remained uninjured.
