Mon Jun 03 08:09:55 CEST 2019 arnekiel

Greek dry bulk operator Diana Shipping, led by Simeon Palios, is entering into tanker trade through the acquisition of two 2011-built aframax tankers. Mutiple shipbroking sources including Clarksons, Advanced Shipping & Trading, Seasure Shipbroking and Lion Shipbroking all reported that Diana Shipping has bought two 104,000 dwt aframax tankers Maersk Jeddah and Maersk Jamnagar from Maersk Tankers. The two vessels will be the first tankers in Diana Shipping’s fleet, which is currently comprised of 45 dry bulk vessels. Each vessel has fetched a price of $30.3m, higher than VesselsValue‘s valuation of $26.69m.
