Two men seriously injured in explosion on tanker
Two men have been seriously injured following an explosion on the 'Bow Hercules' at the Shannon Foynes Port in County Limerick on June 24, 2025. They were carrying out routine maintenance on the ship when a gas cylinder exploded at around 6.30 p.m. Emergency services, including gardaí and paramedics, attended to the scene. One man has been brought by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, while the second man was brought by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital. Operations at the port were suspended during the rescue operation.
