Disabled ship waiting for spare parts
The "Boris PEvkin" which had suffered a failure of the auxiliary engine together with the emergency support system at Izmir on Feb 6 was still under repair by March 13. The new set of spare parts had yet to arrive from the manufacturer. The vessel's departure permission remained cancelled by the port master, and the ship remained stationary at the Izmir anchorage. It left the anchorage after arrival of spare parts and repairs on March 28 at 7.30 p.m. The ship was next headed to Herson.
Auxiliary engine failure in Izmir
On Feb 6, 2018, the "Boris Pevkin" experienced a technical failure of auxiliary engine together with emergency support system at Izmir. The vessel's departure permission has been cancelled by the Maritime Authority until completion of permanent repairs. Repairs were being effected at Izmir TCDD port.
Collision in Taganrog Bay
The "Omskiy 99", enroute from Istanbul to Samsun, was in collision with the "Boris Pevkin" in the Taganrog Bay in the northeastern arm of the Sea of Azov on March 31, 2017. Both vessels were proceeding on parallel courses on the recommended route No 31, when the Russian cargo vessel suddenly changed course to starboard and stuck into the aft of the "Boris Pevkin". The "Omskiy 99" had minor damage to the bulwark, while the "Boris Pevkin" suffered damaged layers at port side.
